School Aged Parent Program Outreach Service

The School Aged Parent Program Outreach Worker is a partnership between Prairie South School Division and the YMCA of Moose Jaw.

The Outreach Worker assists young parents on issues that interfere with their full participation in school. The goals for the program are:

  • increase 40 Developmental Assets
  • increase awareness/understanding of Community Resources and how to access those resources
  • increase instructional time
  • acquired/improved capacity, knowledge, skills to apply for Post-Secondary Education or Meaningful Employment

The Outreach Worker assists young parents with housing, healthy lifestyles, budgeting, transportation, engagement in school, post-secondary, employment skills, medical and legal appointments, as well as makes referrals to other community agencies and coordinates group activities.
